Description: A restrung necklace consisting of ancient Egyptian faience beads of elongated barrel shape, also known as Tell el-Amarna shape, interspersed with round beads. Dated to the period of New Kingdom, the time of great pharaohs Akhenaten, Tutankhamun and Ramses. The beads are glazed, of bright turquoise colour and very fine quality. They are a rare find. This necklace is a perfect gift from the ancient world suitable for the modern wear.

 

Reference: Christie’s sale 7161, lot 399.

 

Period: 1550 – 1069 BC

 

Condition: Very fine. With minor chips and earthy encrustations to some of the beads.
