Measurements: height - 28 cm

 

Description: A slender oinochoe on a stem-like foot ending with a pedestal base. The oval body depicts the head of a so-called lady of fashion in a red-figure, facing left, with her hair tied up by a sakkos decorated with a stephane. The vessel features the palmette motif in a black slip to the rear, enriched with the details in white slip. The oinochoe has an elongated loop-shaped ribbed handle, a sloping shoulder ornamented with a wave pattern and a long neck decorated with the vertical strokes topped by a double line collar in a white slip and flowing into a characteristic trefoil mouth.

 

Period: 4th cent. BC

 

Condition: Very fine. With minor chips of the slip on the edges of the base, handle and rim.
