Description: A matching pair of Roman gold earrings with a closed-end fastening. Middle section of the earring is writhen and has a pendant with a gold bead suspended. The hoop is eliptic. The main centres for jewellery production in the Roman Empire were Alexandria, Antioch, Palmyra and Rome. Most goldsmiths in these centres were of Eastern origin.
