Measurements: 15.1 cm – length


Description: An unusual, rare Roman strainer in 1st-2nd century AD style, with a heart-shaped hole for suspension (likely among other kitchen utilities) in the terminal of the handle and volutes adorning the bottom part and encompassing the strainer mesh. The terminal is decorated with beautiful shapes and outward volutes. This fine rare item was probably a part of a high-quality kitchen set, possibly gilded and used for straining drinking liquids.


Period: 1st – 2nd cent. AD


Condition: Very fine. Intact with patination on the surface.
