Measurements: 6.9 cm − height, 5.1 cm − width

 

Description: An ancient Roman dark blue glass flask with a globular body adorned by eight pinched decorations around the middle of the body and one dot decoration on the flask's neck. Its short conical neck widens to an asymmetrical everted rim. The flask's base is concave. An alluring green iridescence covers the flask's surface. Unguentaria were extremely popular throughout the Roman Empire, since they contained perfume and oil, considered precious at the time and often used both in private life and public ceremonies.

Period: 3rd - 4th century AD

 

Condition: Very fine, intact, with encrustations over the whole and an attractive green iridescence over the surface.
