Description: A bronze European axe-head with slightly flaring blade with ribs to both broad faces, transverse ridged collar, broad socket with two lateral D-section lugs.

 

Reference: MacGregor, A., Antiquities from Europe and the Near East in the collection of the Lord McAlpine of West Green, 1987, no. 11.14 (without loop)

 

Period: Late 2nd  millennium BC.

 

Condition: Complete and intact with a light green patination overall; a few light earthy encrustations remaining.
