Description: A rare matched pair of gold earrings, each a twisted wire hoop with discoid plaque, central granule and beaded wire border; vertical corrugated tube with bulb below, granule and filigree detailing, granule cluster below; to the outer face a cruciform appliqué with five punched points.


Period: 6th - 8th  cent. AD


Provenance: From the important collection of Christian artefacts formed by a London gentleman; acquired on the London art market prior to 1980.


Condition: Very fine.
