Description: A quaint black-glazed, high-gloss Apulian terracotta juglet. This small piece has an ovoid body, a short wide neck with a flaring thick rim, featuring a wide thick strap handle from rim to shoulder and a flat base which is also glazed and grooved. A very fine, intact piece.


Provenance: Survanna collection, Sussex, 1975 – 1990.


Period: 4th – 3rd century BC


Condition: Very fine, intact. Crazing to the surface gloss revealing the orange clay colour in places, encrustations to the surfaces.
