Description: Large Canaanite chocolate and white ware jug.  A piece of ancient Canaanite pottery corresponding to the Late Bronze Age. It has a round foot, which rises to wide smooth shoulder, topped by slightly flared neck and a large flat mouth. The piece has one handle that used to be painted in brown; it rises from the body and connects at neck’s base. The jug is painted with triangular patterns and parallel lines, with the mouth decorated in radiating parallel lines.

Period: 1530 – 1480 BC


Condition: Very fine. Surface worn, crazing to the paint, minor chipping to the body and mouth, otherwise intact.
