Description: A single leaf from a Medieval Bible dating to the Crusader period. The leaf features handwritten text in Latin in two columns, and displays a beuatiful decoration in red and blue pigment.


The leaf itself is exceptionally thin. Its miniature size would have lent itself well to being transported around, perhaps used by a crusader or pilgrim. 1225 AD, the date attributed to the leaf, rests between the Fifth and Sixth Crusades.


Period: France, circa 1225.


Condition: Extremely fine.
