Hunting Scene

Scenes which centre on hunting may serve as a more archetypal analogue to battle scenes. It was a tradition common throughout the world and rulers typically engaged in hunting in order to symbolically establish their power, dominance and glory. Such hunting episodes, either fictional or based on true events, are disseminated through art. In different contexts, hunting scenes may act as a more domestic subject, as a reality of life, that nonetheless possesses a dramatic narrative of life and death.
