Rams & Sheep

The ram was a very important symbol in Ancient Roman culture and mythology. It was associated with Faunus, the horned god who made cattle fertile. Rams were important and considered a sacred symbol also amongst other cultures, such as the Near Eastern one, which often used it as a motif to decorate pottery and to convey the idea of fertility and agricultural abundance. A ram also symbolized Enki, the Sumerian god of water.
