Spiral Design
Spiral designs can be seen as very popular motifs in many ancient cultures particularly in Celtic and other Bronze Age art and were especially employed in jewellery. As well as the single spiral, the triple spiral, named triskelion, can be seen in Celtic and Ancient Greek artefacts, the meaning of which is not completely clear. Suggestions of its meaning, particularly in Celtic cultures, include the concepts of birth or rebirth and other cyclical phenomenons, with extended associations with the feminine nature.
